I grew up in Bayside, Queens, the youngest of 3 kids. My immediate family was a huge influence on me. My dad went into business with his dad, Harry. They started Harry’s Auto Body on Jerome Avenue in the Bronx, NY. I loved the sign, Harry’s Auto body...You bend ‘em, we mend ‘em. Watching my dad run a small business and repair our neighbors’ cars definitely influenced me.
My mom graduated from Queens College and eventually worked at the college in the financial aid office. She ran the work-study program helping students get jobs and earn their way through college.
My older sister is a public school teacher in Queens, NY, and works with children with special needs. My older brother went to SUNY Binghamton (as did I, six years after him) and went on to get his medical degree at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. He is now a Radiologist in Connecticut.
My goal in becoming a podiatrist is to be a healer and a helper. Hard work and dedication are the fabric of my family that I try to instill in my kids. As I state in our welcome video, each patient is treated as a family member. Those geriatric patients are my mom and dad, the children that come into our office are my kids, those weekend warriors are my brother and sister. Every interaction I have with my patients comes with compassion and caring.
